    • I'm glad to see Fisher included on this list. I've been following Mr. Fisher for years in his writing for Forbes and his books, and I've always found him to be an independent thinker and a forward thinker. I see that extends not just to his investing but also to how he runs his firm.

    • What's interesting about Fisher using direct marketing isn't that he does it so successfully. He does, clearly, based on the size of his firm and his long term success. But DM is a proven, high-effective, lower-cost strategy compared to other marketing strategies commonly used by money managers (print, TV, event marketing, etc). What's amazing is the rest of the world continues to eschew DM. I'd like to hear more about Fisher's innovative practices. Maybe a longer interview is in the offing?

    • It's clear from here that Fisher's client focus underpins his organization from top to bottom. Hoorah. If more of the investing world were like that, obviously investors would be better cared for, but they would probably see more success more regularly. Other practitioners should learn from his example to build their firms around client care. Helps put in focus what we're in the business for.
