    • How to pay for reform is the most devilish detail. Reducing Medicare cost is possible with out reducing benefits to beneficiaries. 2 possibilities - require Medicare C plans to cost no more than traditional Medicare (currently they are approx.14% more) and allow the Medicare program to negotiate for lower drug prices. Currently that is specifically excluded by law. Makes not sense when you have a group of 47 million people. The first idea I mentioned is being discussed the second has gotten no air time. The notion of increased taxes is being acknowledged in DC as something that most people don't have the stomach for. It will be interesting to see what comes out of conference.
